Die Rezension bezieht sich auf die neue, von Amazon verkaufte, Version mit violett silbrigem Cover von Barnes & Noble.Als Sammlerin besonderer Alice Ausgaben hab ich diese in London in einem Book Store liegen lassen, was mir zu Hause ewig leid getan hat. Umso mehr hab ich mich gefreut sie dann hier gefunden zu haben. Obwohl andere Händler sie günstiger verkaufen hab ich mich für die sichere Variante über Amazon entschieden und hab es nicht bereut. Das Cover ist ein wirkliches Highlight. Die Geschichte ist ja altbekannt, für mich eine der großartigsten, wenn nicht gar die großartigste, die je geschrieben wurde. Das Buch enthält auch den zweiten Alice Roman "Through the looking glass". Die klassischen berühmten Tenniel Illustrationen innen sind diesmal groß und vor allem in Farbe.Ich finde die Ausgabe eignet sich als Sammlerstück für Fans genauso wie für alle anderen die die diese wunderbare Geschichte gern im Bücherregal hätten. Ich finde das Buch in seiner Aufmachung auch für Kinder, natürlich nicht allzu klein, geeignet.
My 9-yr old twins and I loved reading this classic together, for its absurdity, illustrations (by John Tenniel), and most especially the poems. We were impressed by 7-yr old Alice's impeccable manners, her notable vocabulary, and the entertaining word play evidenced throughout. There were constant surprises from page to page - oh ok so she's literally swimming in her tears? how do you balance an eel on your nose? they play croquet by hitting hedgehogs with flamingos? mock turtles, like a mock turtleneck shirt? Why don't authors today credit kids with the ability to read to this level? (that last question was mine, not my kids').Also I have to say the introductory notes on Rev. C.L. Dodgson aka Lewis Carroll were incredibly interesting. Maybe someday when my kids grow up we'll discuss him, and his alleged pedophilia, etc.

Absolutely beautiful book. Easy to read. Love the pictures. Really looking forward to reading this to my children.Love the colour and feel of the cover....however I was very disappointed that my copy arrived with a very dirty cover. I was able to clean it off, but I was really concerned that it'd ruin the book. A brand new book shouldn't arrive filthy like that. Thankfully the sticker on her back came off easily too. I hate stickers on books.
Ich fand dieses Puzzle ausgesprochen gut!Zum einen die ungewöhnlichen Puzzleteile, die einen doch öfters mal echt zum Grübeln gebracht haben...(Ist das nun ein Randteil oder nicht?????)und zum anderen das Motiv....Wunderschön! Kindheit und Erwachsen sein in einem!Die sogenannte Magnetbox....naja...vielleicht hat man bei mir den Magneten vergessen, wer weiß...aber das ist mir auch egal, denn ich habe es wegen dem Puzzle gekauft und das ist wirklich traumhaft schön!Achtung: Nichts für Leute, die strikt mit dem Randpuzzlen anfangen wollen!Ich empfehle mit dem Alice Motiv anzufangen ;)
Versandt: Schnell, aber das Paket wurde offen! geliefert und das "Buch" wies Wellungen und ein paar Knicke auf.Warum "Buch"? Diese Ausgabe umfasst grade einmal 80 Seiten, ich weiss nicht ob sie trotzdem die Originale Geschichte enthält.Das Cover ist sehr unscharf gedruckt und die Papierqualität ist ein Witz; es wurde ganz einfaches Druckerpapier verwendet...Zudem gibt es (denke ich) Rechtschreibfehler...Absolut NICHT zu empfehlen, besonders da es zum gleichen Preis schönere Ausgaben gibt.
Sorry, Professor hat recht, Suntreader liegt völlig falsch.1. Das sind nicht die Tenniel Illustrationen, sondern die Rackham Illustrationen2. Die "Illustrationen" in dieser Ausgabe sind extrem schlecht gescannte Kopien. Sie füllen keine ganze Seite aus und man sieht den grauen Rand vom Einscannen. Außerdem sind sie hoffnungslos verpixelt.3. Ich habe mich über das flauschige Cover gefreut, aber das ist eine billige Ausgabe eines Print-on-demand-service.Geht zurück, so leid mir das tut.
Ich kann mich hier den positiven Stimmen bloß anschließen! Ich lese gerne und viel, gerne Englisch und gerne Klassiker und komme darüber hinaus aus einer "Künstlerfamilie", weshalb ich mich auch für dieses Buch mit den Originalillustrationen entschieden habe!Das Buch ist sehr liebevoll gestaltet und verfügt über einen Umschlag welcher ebenso bedruckt ist wie das unterliegende gebundene Buch. Die Geschichte ist wundervoll, was ich wohl kaum erwähnen brauch, und ein erfrischend tiefgründigeres und liebevolleres Erlebnis als entsprechende (leider mehr verbreitete) Verfilmungen. Auch für Kinder zum Englisch lernen oder als Gute Nacht Geschichte zur ersten Begegnung mit der englischen Sprache geeignet. Die Illustrationen sind wunderschön, passend, weit entfernt von solchem globalen Kitsch wie er heute in den meisten anderen neuwertigen Massenware-Kinderbüchern zu finden ist, und werden sowohl Erwachsene als auch Kinder erfreuen.Und um es mit Alice's Worten zu sagen "and what is the use of a book, without pictures or conversations?" Zu diesem Fantasievollen Werk gehören sie einfach dazu.Hier kauft man sich ein Stück Kultur, ein tolles Leseerlebnis, Freude und Bildung in einem.
